Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

In the Catholic Church, Bishops, Priests, and Deacons are the Ordinary Ministers of Holy Communion. However, because of the size and vibrant life of our parish family, we rely on the assistance of Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion to ensure that the faithful can receive the Blessed Sacrament reverently and efficiently during Mass.

These ministers are practicing Catholics who possess a deep love for the Eucharist and a desire to serve their brothers and sisters in Christ.

Requirements for Service

To serve in this sacred ministry, individuals must meet the following criteria:

  • Fully Initiated: Must be a practicing Catholic who has received the Sacraments of Christian Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Eucharist).

  • In Good Standing: If married, the marriage must be recognized by the Catholic Church.

  • Trained: Must attend a parish-provided training session to understand the theological foundation and practical reverence required for this role.

Commitment & Scheduling

Once trained, individuals are placed on our ministry schedule on a rotating basis throughout the year. We work around your availability to ensure serving fits beautifully into your life.
