A little about him….he was raised in Providence, Rhode Island. Dr. Marcellino D’Ambrosio initially set his sights on stardom, playing bass guitar in several popular rock bands by the time he was 16. But a deeper encounter with Christ changed his course and led to a Ph.D. in theology under the guidance of renowned Jesuit theologian, Avery Cardinal Dulles. Now better known in TV and radio as “Dr. Italy,” he’s a speaker, best-selling author, pilgrimage director and theologian, who’s teaching career has included Loyola, the University of Dallas, and most recently, Catholic Distance University.

Dr. D’Ambrosio, the father of five and director of Crossroads Initiative, a nonprofit ministry of evangelization and renewal, brings to his teaching a practical, down-to-earth, and humorous perspective that makes his words easy to understand and enjoyable to hear. He’s served as an expert commentator on religious issues on national news and is a sought-after guest on a variety of Catholic radio networks such as Relevant Radio, EWTN, and the Sirius Catholic channel. He’s hosted an EWTN series on the Early Church Fathers for nearly 20 years now, and he has more recently collaborated with Ascension Press on book & video study series, including Jesus: The Way the Truth and the Life, and a brand-new series filmed on location in Rome, released July 2022: What We Believe: The Beauty of the Catholic Faith.
