In Mass a couple of Sunday's ago, I was thinking about the song we sing after the consecration before communion and was curious what the English translation was.
Thanks to a little persistence and Google, I think I found what I was looking for. The National Catholic Register had an article talking about the Hymn.
Kathy Schiffer writes:
The title is drawn from John 6:36, Misericordes sicut Pater (English: Be Merciful, As Your Father Is), by English composer Paul Inwood.

So "Misericordes sicut Pater" is "Be Merciful, As Your Father Is".
The second part of the song, "in aeternum misericordia eius", was a little harder to find. Looking on some Latin translation sites and piecing some phrases together I think I found a close match.
His mercy is everlasting
With those Latin to English translations in mind, the song has had quite a bit more meaning to me right before and after communion the past couple of weeks. I hope that this helps you as well.
Have a great Holy Week and Year of Mercy!
